A collaborative effort in rewarding safety MAIN - ISG-2

In February, ISG in Malaysia hosted a safety event in collaboration with its longstanding customer, a global energy giant.

The event, now in its seventh consecutive year, celebrates and promotes the upkeep of high safety standards for an ongoing project with the customer.

For the confidential project, ISG was appointed as a turnkey design and build contractor delivering an interior fit out across an 18,000 sq ft office space, with construction set to complete in May 2019.

The revolutionary use of access platforms, EcoLift and Pecolift, was also deployed for this project, significantly elevating the overall health and safety standards for the project.

This move receives positive acknowledgement from the customer and effectively positions ISG as a role model with the highest level of safety consciousness within the construction.

Held at the project site, the event involved keynote speakers including ISG’s managing director for Malaysia, Darren Pavitt and senior project manager, Syahrul Zanwar.

The construction operatives also received a refresher on safe working procedures and were provided with demonstrations through case study and video presentations.

As part of the agenda, everyone took the time to observe a moment for construction operatives that were killed, disabled or injured while carrying out their job.

Led by ISG’s environmental, health and safety manager, Khairul Ramlan, the commemoration aimed to promote awareness and emphasise the importance of maintaining high standards of safety throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Safety awards were also presented to site operatives and supply chain who were recognised for upholding our safety measures in categories that include ‘Best PPE Compliance’, ‘Consistent Safety Worker’ and ‘Worker With Best UCUX Submission’.
